Types of Skin Cancers


There are different types of skin cancers depends on the skin cells for which they grow. Definite types also tend to build up in definite areas of the body. Every kind of skin cancer has unlike characteristics, different patterns of development and different levels of harshness. All are treated by different methods.


The most common type of skin cancer is called basal cell carcinoma. It is the least serious kind of skin cancer because it grows slowly and rarely spreads. A basal cell carcinoma appears as a pearl-like gray, tiny nodule on sun exposed areas of the scalp, upper back, face, lips, neck, chest or upper arms. It may become a sore, become crusty or drain fluid.

A second type of skin cancer is called squamous cell carcinoma. This kind is more serious because it can spread to other vital organs and tissues. This cancer appears as a small, peeling, fleshy nodule, rosy, dome-shaped, on any element of the skin which is showing to the sun. Because the extend of this cancer is sluggish, if we caught iton time or if the cancer is controlled in lymph nodes, it is possible to stop the expansion of cancer by removing the engaged lymph nodes earlier to the cancer spreads more. Other types of skin cancers are merkel cell carcinoma, Kposi's sarcoma and cutaneous lymphoma.

Working as the largest organ in the body, The structure of your skin is very complex than you might understand.
We thought that the skin is just one layer, but actually it is composed of two different layers which have dissimilar functions. The outer layer of skin epiderms and Layer which lies below this is called the dermis. The DNA enzymes, pigmentation, blood vessels , hair, and nerves are also the other components of skin.
In humans beings , skin varies really in colour. This is because the quantity of pigmentation varies in dissimilar populations. Skin pigmentation is called melanin. It is not only does it supply colour to the human skin, but it also helps to shelter the human body from the sunlight. In the skin, the melanin present which helps to attract UV rays by which the skin is showing to simply by being exterior. The enzymes in the skin can also help to repair the damage caused by the sunlight.
The skin has a number of different jobs. First, it provides layer for all of our inner muscles and organs. It provides an striking cover for our bodies. It protect us from the exterior world. If we are in emotional state or sick the skin indicate it. If we are inflamed or have any type of sickness, Our skin can be a main indicator of this. Our skin can also signify if we are cold, scared, or embarrassed. The skin also helps manage the heat of our blood and the temperature of our entire body. It also has a function in the discharge of waste products from the body through sweat. From the environment, the skin can take up oxygen and further nutrients. The skin also has receptive spirit endings which offer us with our sense of touch.

Rosacea:A Fatal Skin Diseases


It is a skin disease.It affects the region of forehead ,face, specially nose and cheeks by tiny patches of crimson acne. It is a chronic skin condition which involves a severe swelling of nose, eyelid, forehead, chin and eventually total face. The symbols of it can be appeared as hives, red bumps, swelling, redness, and the rashes just like spots.

Usually, it is thought that the citizens of the northwestern European experience generally in these symptoms but the people living in other regions and areas have probability to experience in it. This dangerous condition is happened with both males and females, but the ratio of womens which suffers in this is three times extra than males. It appears in the age of thirty to sixty

It consists of four types. Out of these four ,the patient can have any one type. These types are as follows:

• Erythematotelangiectatic rosacea: The symptoms of this is full and stable rosiness along with the skin flushing and blushing. In this type, the blood vessels are visible near the surface of skin that caused scratches ,itching and frustration.

• Papulopustular rosacea: The symptoms of this are rosiness along with pus filed bumps. It leftovers for two or three days..

• Phymatous rosacea: In this type the nose of the patient covered with red acne and the nose increase from its original size. Itching, Irritating and thickening of the skin. It can generate infection on the ears, chin, eyelid, forehead, and cheeks.

• Ocular rosacea: it is the subtype and the symptoms of this as redness and dryness of the eyelids and eyes. A few more symptoms and infections of this sub type rosacea are irritation, body sensation, burning and pain.

Skin Changes in Pregnancy


We have seen that, In pregnancy most of the skin are changes due to the effects of hormones on different body structures. The effects on the skin may be considered normal and considered that it is not disease-related. But, these similar effects may be viewed as pathologic to the woman who has fresh skin changes. But out of these changes, Some changes are permanent, but appear only during pregnancy or for a short interval of time after pregnancy.

Pigment Changes

The change in pigmentation during pregnancy is called hyperpigmentation. It is thought that top levels of progesterone estrogen, and melanocyte-stimulating hormone which cause this skin darkening. The final is a hormone which causes the pigment producing cells, or melanocytes, to build additional melanin. Regions that were darker earlier to pregnancy such as the nipples, areolae, armpits,genital skin, and internal thighs which tend to get still darker. Sometimes the dark line is called linea nigrawhich make on the belly. Other women have a darkening of facial skin it is said to be melasma.

Hair and Nail Changes

In pregnancy Hair changes can differ from too much to too little. several women notice further, darker hair on the arms, face and legs. The similar women may also note a reduction of the hair on the scalp. This condition is known as telogen effluvium and it is caused by a transfer of these hairs to the telogen, or inactive, phase. It is throughout the telogen stage that hairs are hut. This peeling may last from 1 to 5 months but it may not stop until 15 months after the release.The Nail changes during pregnancy contain delicacy, channel formation, or a division of the nail from the ending of the nail bed called onycholysis.

Increased Incidence Of Skin Cancer Among Asian Living In Singapore

The occurrence rates of skin cancers are rising in Caucasian populations. There is slight information on skin cancer trends in Asians, who have clearly different skin types. So this piece of writing focus on analysis skin cancer occurrence rates and time trends among the 3 Asian racial groups in Singapore.
This statistics of skin cancer were analyzed from the Singapore Cancer Registry from 1968 to 2006 using the Poisson deterioration model.
The data gives information that there were 4044 reported cases of basal cell carcinoma, In which 2064 of squamous cell carcinoma, and 415 of melanoma. Overall skin cancer occurrence rates increased from 2.9/100,000 in 1968 to 1972 to 8.4/100,000 in 1998 to 2002, which is lesser than 7.4/100,000 from 2003 to 2006. Among older persons (60 years), basal cell carcinoma rates increased the most, 4.1/100,000 in Indians ,18.9/100,000 in Chinese and 6.0/100,000 in Malays from 1968 to 1972 to 2003 to 2006. Squamous cell carcinoma rates among those aged 60 years and older increased by 2.3/100,000 in Chinese and by 1/100,000 in Malaysians and Indians. For all 3 races tumor rates were constant. Skin cancer rates among the fairer-skinned Chinese were about 3 times greater than in Malaysians and Indians, who have usually darker complexions.
Even though suitable population denominators were used, lack of data from 2007 could affectthe consequences for the last time period, which comprised 4 years instead of 5 years.
